Pitta Dosha Characterstics

Pitta dosha is the principle of transformation. Pitta people change things and typically they change some for better. Pitta dosha have the capability of looking at a situation and saying what needs fixing here. And they can see how they fix it. Pittas act like they are the bosses of the world. They are the one who can clearly see how to get from point A to point B in the most efficient fashion.

If you are a pitta dosha person you may find yourself being the leader in the groups that you are involved in. More than often you’ll be called to solve problems because you have a way of approaching things analytically and seeing what is really important. Physically pitta dosha person tends to have greater angularity than vata.

The angularity of the jawline and eyes of pitta dosha person are usually deep set. They often have a very intense gaze. Their build is typically medium. It’s called the mesomorphic frame, which means that the shoulder are little broader than the hips. In pitta women the typical physical shape is similar to an hourglass. Whereas vata women tend to have a rectangular frame,  while pitta have the curves. The curves are not traumatic or voluptuousness but because they have a medium build, they definitely have a very feminine shape.

Their feature tends to be very regular with a great deal of symmetry of the face. They like uniformity while vata dosha tends to lack uniformity. Mentally and emotionally pitta struggles more with anger and judgment. When they look at a situation their tendency is to assess what’s wrong with it and to look for ways in which it can be fixed. They tend to be goal oriented in their approach and, they can be very intense.

Pitta people get frustrated when something interferes with them when they are working through the process. Anything that gets in their way is slowing them down from reaching from their goal is an obstacle that needs to be removed. Because of their goal orientation and the intensity they often become workaholic.

When they become frustrated if they are out of balance they are likely to blame someone else for their frustration. So although they are likely to blame others, they also hold themselves accountable about what’s happening around them. If they need an escape from their present moment because of frustration, they often escape into their work and they may disappear for hours or days at a time as they continue to focus on the goal that they have set out for themselves.
