Coconut Oil Popcorn Recipe With Dark Chocolate Drizzle

The Ayurveda Experience July 08, 2016

Vata people and kapha people might usually find coconut oil too cold to use. But in the heat of the summer coconut oil is such a panacea of soothing bliss!

Coconut oil has many applications. It is great for soothing your skin after a day in the sun. It’s lovely to mix with salt as an exhilarating, exfoliating scrub. And it is absolutely wonderful as a topping to popcorn.

Coconut oil popcorn with dark chocolate drizzle is one of my absolute favorite recipes to make with this healthy oil.

Coconut Oil Popcorn with Organic Dark Chocolate Drizzle

This is a movie time favorite at our house. It is so satisfying in texture and the combination of salt and sweet makes it so pleasing.

1/4 cup chocolate chips or carob chips
    2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
    2 cups of popcorn kernels
    1 tsp coarse sea salt

    1. Start by popping your popcorn. If you do so on the stove then use the coconut oil to pop it. If you are air popping your popcorn then drizzle 2 tbsp of coconut oil over it while it is still hot.
    2. Melt 1/2 cup of organic chocolate chips to drizzle over your popcorn.
    3. Add salt and blend together.

I hope you enjoy this fun coconut recipe. In Ayurveda, coconut oil is considered to soothe the element of fire and bring peace to the mind and body. For more cooling coconut oil recipes, try my Coconut Oil Body Scrub and Rosy Love Coconut Massage Oil.

    Happy summer!
