    Ayurvedic Home Remedies For Dry, Cracked Lips

    Cracked or dry lips are a common problem. They can be painful and unattractive. The lips become red, cracked, tender or even sore and painful.

    Causes Of Dry, Cracked Lips

    • Dehydration
    • Smoking
    • Vitamin deficiency
    • Sun exposure and weather
    • Excessive wetting of lips
    • Consuming too much of caffeinated drinks
    • Genetics
    • Excessive use of lipstick

    How To Have Beautiful Lips

    Remove lip makeup before going to bed. An adequate amount of water intake is essential to keep the lips hydrated and prevent them from cracking. A proper. balanced diet with fresh fruits and vegetables is essential. Fruits like papaya and dragon fruit can be rubbed onto the lips as lip care.

    Home Remedies For Dry, Cracked Lips

    Honey

    Honey is a natural moisturizer. It can prevent lips from cracking and drying and also improves the color of lips. For dry, cracked lips plain honey can be applied 3-4 times per day.

    Coconut Oil

    Coconut oil or olive oil is best for cracked lips caused by cold and dry weather.

    Coriander Leaves

    Juice from fresh coriander leaves can be applied onto the lips to keep them soft and pink.

    Rose Petals

    A handful of rose petals should be washed and soaked in milk. After a few hours of soaking, grind the petals into a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the lips for 2 -3 times a day to maintain lip color.

    Strawberries

    Strawberry can be rubbed onto the lips to make them pink and soft.

    Beet Root

    Beet root paste or a slice of beet root can be rubbed onto the lips to enhance their color. The darkness from the beet root will gradually reduce.
